Weena Contest: Family Curse

I thought I was not going able to finish this on time! Between work and my health issues time has been scarce.
This is my entry fro Weena's contest that is holding
For some reason when I read the comic Olja made an impression on me. I see a fierce, dangerous woman and at the same time a person that needs to be protected.
The elements on the drawing are not hard to guess for the Weena fans, the twisted tree is her family, and the blood spring is the curse that is increased with the family members lives, discontent and suffering. Far from the shade of the tree, a clear sky awaits.
I have seen many great entries so far but it was nice to be able to do this. I haven't made a personal piece in months!
